Setting it apart from most industrial parks, the design of the London Sustainable Industries Park will be led by its landscape and environment. The emphasis will be on creating a landscape which improves the quality of life, contributes to sustainability and reflects the aims of the park itself. Extensive tree planting will assist with site drainage and provide shade to reduce solar heat gain as well as creating a high quality business environment. Buildings, footpaths and cycleways will sit within the trees creating an urban woodland feel whilst clearings will also provide focal points for entrances to and movement between buildings on the site.
All buildings - including the proposed building for Thames Gateway Power - will be built to exceptional environmental specifications. They will be designed to be energy efficient and include schemes such as rainwater harvesting, on-site renewable energy technologies and green roofs where possible.
All of these initiatives will assist in creating a unique environment which is very different to what has been available in the UK to date. Having said this, most major developments are difficult to envisage, and the Thames Gateway Power facility is no different.
We have worked hard to provide visual tools that will give a true reflection of what the development will look like. We have prepared photo-montages from various viewpoints to show how it will sit in the current landscape. We have also prepared photo-realistic computer generated images to illustrate the building and explain the facility in more detail.
